first isolated in 1985 from a special bacteria halophilus in the desert saline-alkali land of Egypt, Africa. As an effective component in the body of a highly halophilic bacteria, ectoine is an important substance for halophilic bacteria to maintain osmotic pressure balance, so it is also known as "halotolerant bacteria extract". 

Function:
