Product Description

L-carnosine (β-alanyl-L-histidine)
is a dipeptide of the amino acids β-alanine and histidine. It is highly concentrated in muscle and brain tissue. Carnosine has a variety of potentially beneficial antioxidant properties, which can remove reactive oxygen species and α-β unsaturated aldehydes formed by fatty acid peroxidation of cell membranes during oxidative stress. Carnosine is also a zwitterion, a neutral molecule with positive and negative ends.

Function:
1. L-carnosine is the most effective antioxidant found so far. Carnosine helps the most destructive free radicals andprevents skin collagen from cross-linking, which can lead to loss of elasticity and wrinkles. Carnosine helps to chelate ionic metals and expel from the body.
2. L-carnosine can be used as a regulator of zinc and copper concentrations in nerve cells,helping to prevent excessive stimulation of these neuroactive substances in the body.
